You speed up the belt, and suddenly you’re dealing with doughy centers or crusts that just aren’t hitting the mark. Standard heating elements just can’t keep up. That’s why we use gold-coated quartz tubes. Instead of relying on slow, drifting heat, these use high-intensity short-wave infrared (IR) to get the job done fast.
Why the gold actually matters
Think of a regular quartz tube like a lightbulb that shines in both directions. A lot of that heat just wastes away, heading backward into the housing where it does nothing for your bread. We put a thin layer of gold on the back of the tube. It acts like a mirror. Now, all that energy is bounced forward, hitting the surface of your product with everything it’s got. You get a massive punch of heat exactly where you need it, without having to crank up your power bill.
Getting them into your line
We don’t want you spending a fortune on electricians or new transformers. We spec these tubes to match whatever voltage you’re already running—usually 220V or 400V. And because we use standard connectors, they’re basically a “plug and play” deal. If a lamp burns out, you just swap it. No need to rip apart your control panel or rewire the whole shop.
The honest trade-offs
Look, this isn’t magic. It’s physics. Because these tubes hit the surface so hard, you have to be careful. If your belt is moving too slowly, you’ll scorch the outside of the bread before the middle even gets warm. It takes a little bit of tweaking to find that sweet spot between your belt speed and the wattage. One more thing:**keep them clean.**These tubes hate grease. If your environment is oily, you’ll get hot spots, and the tubes will fail way sooner than they should. Keep the reflectors spotless, and they’ll last.
