We built a 5-zone preform heating lamp to pull that tunnel back into spec, one zone at a time. What matters is repeatable energy delivery. We use short-wave infrared emitters with quartz tubes, so each zone responds quickly and holds a tight thermal focus. The lamp is rated for 230V or 460V, matched to your blow molder’s control cabinet. Each zone is independently driven, so you can tweak power in one section without touching the others. Output is calibrated to stabilize preform surface temperature—not just throw watts. Connections use R7s sockets and standard terminals, so the swap-in on the machine frame is straightforward. Here’s the point: control beats guesswork. With five zones, you can dial the preform temperature profile to match the resin, the color, and the bottle geometry running on your Sidel, Krones, SIPA, Husky, SACMI, or Nissei ASB blow molder. That cuts thin spots and stress marks, and it keeps cycle time consistent. In practice, you see fewer temperature-related rejects and less scrap. Energy use drops because the emitters heat on demand, and the modular layout lets you service one section without shutting down the whole tunnel. Before you spec, a few practical notes. The lamp needs a clean mounting surface and proper airflow in the heating tunnel. If ambient dust or oil is heavy, performance can drift—keep the reflector path clear. Match voltage and connector type to your machine, and verify zone wiring against the control diagram. We supply the lamp as a drop-in assembly, but alignment and calibration still make the difference in day-to-day consistency.
