On the blow molder, the heating tunnel is where the line either makes money or throws it away. If the preform heating is off, you’ll see uneven stretch, PC sheets that start to crystallize, and scrap piling up fast. We built our PC sheet infrared lamp to drop in as a direct replacement for the OEM emitter—no re-engineering, no rework.
What matters under the hood
We keep the OEM footprint and electrical interface, so the lamp swaps straight into Sidel, Krones, SIPA, Husky, SACMI, and Nissei ASB machines. Specs are 1:1: 230–240V or 100–120V, 1.5–3.0 kW per lamp, quartz or halogen short-wave emitter, R7s connector, and standard lengths from 150 mm to 350 mm. Peak emission sits around 0.8–1.2 µm to hit the PC absorption band, giving you fast, even heating with a tight hot zone. Power density is tuned to 25–40 W/cm² so you can run preforms at 110–130°C without scorching. Response is near-instant—full output in under 2 seconds—so the heating tunnel keeps up with line speed without lag.
Here’s why it holds up on the floor. The lamp evens out the heating curve across the PC sheet, which cuts thickness drift and knocks down stress cracks. You get faster heat-up, more consistent dwell, and fewer rejects. Energy use drops because the emitter heats on demand and cools quickly, and the 1:1 fit means you keep the reflectors and mounting hardware you already have. In practice, that means fewer lamp changes, less downtime, and a profile that repeats shift after shift.
A few practical notes.
Installation is plug-and-play, but the lamp has to be aligned to the reflector and set to the right focal distance. Too close and you risk hot spots; too far and you bleed cycle time.
Keep the heating tunnel clean—PC dust on the quartz tube will skew output.
And before you order, verify your machine’s voltage and connector type. Mismatched pins or voltage will keep the lamp from fitting properly and will shorten its life.
